Purpose Statement

purpose statement pictureThe Purpose of Jamestown Baptist Church is to Glorify God by reproducing and developing disciples, as prescribed in God's Word, through worship, instruction, fellowship, and evangelism.

Jamestown Baptist Church has been in the Jamestown/Hudsonville area for nearly 30 years. The people of Jamestown Baptist will make you feel welcome and invite you to join them in worship of the great God we serve together.

What makes us unique?
  • At JBC, we love to speak of Jesus, His sacrifice on the cross for our sins, and resurrection to a new life.
  • It is our passion to proclaim God's Word for the good of our community, nation, and world.
  • We provide opportunities for all ages to be refreshed and strengthened in their faith.
  • We exalt God in our worship, evangelism, instruction, fellowship, and service.

In times when many are searching for something solid, Jamestown Baptist Church seeks to be a "pillar and support of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15).

Worship
It is our belief that worship is not merely what takes place in weekend services; it can happen everyday in everything we are doing.

Our commission from God is to use the tool of music which He has given, to encourage a lifestyle of worship.  We believe that worshiping God is the highest use of the human personality, and the goal in our worship services is to create an environment of beauty, passion, and praise that encourages our congregation to move beyond the rush and chaos of daily life into the presence of our Lord.

Our worship services express our love to our Lord and Savior and exalt God because He is worthy of our highest and our best.  The question is not, "Are you a worshiper?", but the question is "Whom or what do you worship?".  God inhabits the praise of His people.

We recognize that there are many diverse kinds of musical tastes, and they all can be used to worship this great God.  We use both traditional and contemporary styles of worship.
