The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.

AWANA is a Bible-centered children's ministry providing weekly training for students age 2 through 5th grade.  Our goal is to reach kids and their families with the gospel message and train them to serve Him.

AWANA lessons give a clear, consistent presentation of the gospel.  They include Bible memory, games, and a fun approach to learning God's Word.  We meet weekly on Wednesday nights at 7 pm from September to May.

Which Club Does My Child Go To?

If you have questions about which club your child will be entering, please see below:

Puggles: A child must be 2 or 3 to be in Puggles.  At any time throughout the year, when your child turns 2 they may join Puggles.  However, because of the young age of this group; we do require that a parent stay on the premise of the church at all times.  You will be given a pager and paged if your child is in need of a diaper change or has an accident.

Cubbies:  This club is for Pre-K.  Cubbies is normally a 2 year program, so if you believe your child is 2 years from entering Kindergarden then this would be the club for your child.  The age normally ranges from older 3 yr olds, up to 5 year olds.

Sparks: This club is for Kindergarden, 1st and 2nd graders.

TNT: This club is for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.

6th Graders on up that would like to continue on with their Awana material meet with Sam Baughman, our Trek and Journey Director, at a separate day and time.  If your child is interested, please call the church for Sam's contact information.

Children's Church

Kids age 4 through 4th grade meet during the morning service in room 17 for Children's Church.

Children's Church is an age-appropriate program for ages 2 through 4th grade that challenges kids to live their faith from the inside out.  At JBC we believe that part of being a disciple is being equipped to live like Jesus.  Children's Church is just one practical way we are making disciples.  2 & 3 year olds meet during the morning service in room 11 for songs, stories, Bible verses, and more.
